The Cultured Warrior #050
- I'm taking a break to reassess direction and drive.
- I've (pre)released some goodies to keep you occupied.
If you've followed my work for any amount of time, thank you. You already know that sometimes things pivot, rather abruptly. The days of The Kombat Kitchen e-books that became a podcast morphed into a newsletter in the wake of censorship and curtailed time allotment.
Ironically, now the Ministry of Truth is literally being formed, so I'm committed to keeping this platform alive. What the next pivot might look like, I'm not sure. Hence the announcement of a hiatus.
One thing I don't want to do is spew out more junk news and more drama. Rallying up nutrition and mental health news from around the web is interesting for sure. There are also people who do it much better than me (e.g. mostly the other newsletters I cop stories from).
There's also a nauseating amount of in-fighting in the ancestral health world – nitpicking and drama-tacizing organ-meat/or-not, honey/or-not, coffee/or-not, fruit/or-not, hyper-carnivore/or-not – and that's honestly why it will ironically never become mainstream. At least the planet of the vegan folks are all on the same page regarding market messaging!
My values and principles obviously haven't change, nor my interests. How they're delivered will. The tech overlords did a damn good job getting everyone invested into specific platforms – siphoning them off is neigh impossible. So, it pains me to say that much of what's been delivered here would have more reach on Instagram or TikTok.
It probably won't surprise most readers that while I hold strong ideals, I'm rebellious as f*ck. Musically, I probably should have been born at least 10 years sooner, but I digress. Maybe I'm doomed to be a restless dreamer, but "Cultured Warrior" seemed to fit. Besides, "Warrior Poet" and "Violent Hippie" were already trademarked.
So, the real assessment is:
What do I want to live in protest of?
After all, aren't we supposed to strive to "be the trouble you want to see in the world" or something like that?
The "Tools" Page:
I don't know how long this "hiatus" will last, but it won't be permanent. In the meantime I've got some new goodies under development:
At present the Tools Page features:
- Tiered Strength Standards (for men)
- Tiered Strength Standards (for women, currently beta testing)
- Nutrition / Health Report Card
- Tier 1 Strength & Conditioning Programs
Keep your eyes peeled for:
- Tier 2 Strength & Conditioning Programs
- Tier 3 Strength & Conditioning Programs
